    Condition: Fair. 1939. First Edition. 219 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. Green cloth with black lettering to spine. Formerly of Drummond's Lending Library, Hawick, with expected inserts, stamps and marks. In the Silver Star Library series with its logo on front board. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Gutters heavily cracked with exposed netting; feels slightly shaky. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Traces of library plates to FEP and pastedown. A few dog-eared corners. Library stamp to first page of chapter 1. Sporadic mild marks within. Block edges very foxed. Boards have some moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and minor bumping to spine ends. Boards rather rubbed and marked overall. Mild dust stains and other marks (predominantly to spine). Boards are notably bowed. Book has an intense forward lean. Slight denting to edges.
