Contact seller4-star sellerHardcover. Quarto, two volumes. In Good minus condition. Bound in full brown leather with gilt ornamentation to spines, boards, edges and turn ins. Labels on spines are significantly chipped, impacting the lettering and volume information. Loss of leather along the spine head/tails, exposing the endbands. Boards have significant… rubbing wear, cracking to joints, and moderate discoloration. Bumping to corners, resulting in exposed boards and chipping to edges. All boards are loose or partially detached from textblock. Textblock has marbled end papers, the armorial bookplate of Heathcote Wyndham on the front pastedowns, light plus age toning, light plus to significant foxing throughout, and stains scattered throughout. Volume 1 has the additional bookplate of J. F. Crace on the front pastedown, and an archival repair to the fore edge of page 251, not impacting text. Text in Greek and Latin. Shelved in Room A.
