The Italian author of the French manuscript first published this work in English because, "The continent is accustomed to receive the truth with less distrust when it proceeds from Great Britain."The manuscripts were transmitted to the translator in detached portions including the Declarations, Laws etc. of the Carbonari. One large folding lithograph of a meeting of the Carbonari, portraits (3), six folding documents in lithographic facsimile all present at rear. Half leather with raised bands. Gold lettering and design on spine. Marbled end papers. Illustrated. Frontispiece. xv, 235pp. Corners a bit worn. Neat pencil writing on half title page. Full refund if not satisfied.
