Ebd. - Ugo Barpi (1862 - 1925) promovierte nach Studienunterbrechung (Todesfall des Vaters) 1885 an d. R. Scuola Superiore in Mailand. Es folgten erzwungenermaßen einige Jahre de…r Berufstätigkeit ehe er als Assistent an d. Lehrstuhl der Veterinär-Anatomie v. Prof. Zoccoli in Mailand ging, der sein wertvollster Lehrer werden sollte. Er habilitierte sich dort in Veterinärmedizin und in Anatomie. Der hervorragende Ruf Prof. Paladinos zog ihn nach Neapel für eine Lehrauftrag in Anatomie. Danach beworb er sich erfolgreich für die a.o. Professur d. Lehrstuhls f. Veterinär-Anatomie in Pisa. Er veröffentlichte zahlreiche Handbücher zu Anatomie, Histologie, Hygiene und spez. Tierzucht. Weitere Themen seiner Publikationen waren die Verteilung der glatten Muskelzellen im Magen der Haustiere, Studien zur Bauchaorta, Veränderungen am Skelett u. zum Plexus brachialis.
