Plastic comb binding. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. B&W Illustrations; This is an oversized spiral bound hardback book. The book is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. There is some rubbing and bumping to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. Eventually it stretched to Sonoma, more than 600 miles to the north. The California wine industry owes its success to many fathers. By 1919, California had become America's leading winegrowing state, with over 1,000 wineries in operation, but the following year, the 18th Amendment was enacted, bringing Prohibition. Uncertainty reigned in the vineyards of California, until Repeal on Dec. 5, 1933 with the enactment of the 21st Amendment. The California wine industry began the task of rebuilding."
