This volume contains the printed text of Men and Memories of 1850, a charming contemporary account of San Francisco in 1850 by T. A. Barry and B. A. Patten of the bar, Barry & Patten's. Their account offers a glimpse into the life and scenery of San Francisco at the time including descriptions of the Golden Triangle area in the city demarcated by the Examiner Building, Portsmouth Plaza, and the Ferry Building. Each chapter contains Barry and Patten's descriptions of San Francisco encompassing subjects anywhere from famous residents to historical incidents to local establishments. Foreword by Joseph A.
