Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Nicolas Bentley (drew pictures) (illustrator). 1st Edition. The book has soft covers, that has minor bumps and scuffs. There is tanning and spotting on the front and back covers. The staples have gone rusty, but remain to hold the book tightly together. There jacket is no jacket with this book. The pages are in a very good condition, with spotting on the front and back inside cover, and end papers. Each page inside has rust where the staples are, this doesn't affect the reading quality of the book. There are black and white pictorial illustrations drawn by Nicolas Bentley. 'Each week readers submitted newspaper cuttings to illustrate the English attitude, its foibles and follies. The book is described by Michael Barsley as a 'record', sometimes of tortuous hypocrisy, sometimes unconscious humour guaranteed to baffle foreigners' The overall condition of this book is very good, especially given its age.
