Textblock tight. Auguste-Marseille Barthelmy, 1796-1867, was a French poet whose satirical offe…rings were not always welcomed by the hierarchy. The weekly publication "Nemesis" was produced by Barthelmy and his good friend, Joseph Mery. It ran from March 1831 to April 1832. Some of the poems: "La Statue de Napoleon", "Ma Disgrace Officiel", "Le Cholera-morbus" "La Justice de Peuple", "Au Roi". Tipped-in is a letter from Barthelmy to an unknown man regarding a change of address for his payment, most likely referring to his government pension, Barthelmy wrote at the bottom "Bibliothecaire de la Residence Imperiale Marseille". In part: "MONSIEUR, J'AI L'HONNEUR DE VOUS INFORMER QU'AYANT CHANGE DE LAGEMENT.BARTHELMY". DATED "MARSEILLE 10 7 63", SCARCE Barthelmy correspondence.
