Bellissimo, candido e marginoso esemplare appartenuto a Francesco Pizzorni (suo ex libris manoscritto alla prima controsguardia), medico e autore della storia delle malattie in Sarzana (1774). Sono certamente del medesimo Pizzorni alcune annotazioni e avvisi "ut corrigantur" posti a penna in luoghi intelineari o a margine. Un solo esemplare dell'opera è segnalato al census delle Biblioteche pubbliche Italiane, presso la Biblioteca Braidense (però malamente repertoriato non sotto il nome di che ne fu autore, il dottore milanese Bartolomeo Corte, ma di chi ne fu, malgré lui, soggetto anatomico, il patrizio genovese Giovanni Battista Doria, all'epoca defunto).

In 8° (17,3×12 cm); Due opere in un volume: (8), 251, (5) pp. e 65, (3) pp. Legatura coeva in cartoncino molle. Due prime edizioni di importanti opere del grande medico e scienziato milanese, Bartolomeo Corte. Esercitò la professione medica particolarmente a favore dei poveri, che assisteva anche economicamente, procurandosi la fama di uomo pio e continente anche col suo modo di vivere riservato e parco. Nel 1714 entrò all'Accademia Leopoldino-Carolina Naturae Curiosorum; la sua cultura spaziava dalle scienze mediche alla matematica e alla musica. Studiò ed insegnò a Pavia. Fu amico di Vallisnieri, Valsalva, Morgagni, Nigrisoli, Lancisi, Torti, Vogli, oltre che con eruditi come Bacchini e Muratori. Nella prima opera esaminando quantità e qualità del sangue, egli difende la flebotomia e critica coloro che vi si oppongono. L'opera non ebbe particolare successo e un articolo critico comparso sul Giornale de' letterati, XVI (1713), pp. 499 ss. innescò una polemica alla quale parteciparono diverse personalità del suo tempo. In questa discussione Corte prese posizione proprio con la seconda opera qui presentata. Esemplare ancora in barbe ed in perfette condizioni di conservazione.
