Scientific paper on Pan-African metavolcanic sequences or arcs in the Al Lith area on the coast of the Red Sea, southwest of the holy city of Mecca. The authors suggest a diachronous evolution of arcs in the southern Arabian shield, an assumption making large-scale lithostratigraphic correlations accross major tectonic boundaries questionable. - Published in the scientific journal "Precambian Research" on 1 January 1982. - Spiral binding cracked in places.
