Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good binding. An exhaustive history of the ancient English family of the House of Gorges. With a presentation slip from Mrs. Raymond Gorges to J. C. Metcalf attached to the half-title page. Metcalf was the dean of graduate studies at The University of Virginia. The title page has some offsetting from the tipped-in color frontispiece of Sir Arthur Gorges of Chelsea; otherwise, nearly a fine copy. In the publisher's terra-cotta cloth, with gilt titling to the spine. 277 pages, with quite a large folding pedigree chart at the rear. Very Good binding.
