The book is bound in gray linen with the title stamped in black on the front cover. Front cover is slightly bowed. Spine has darkened. Light tanning/ foxing along the edges of the covers. The pages are ivoried, lightly age-toned, clean, and unmarked. The binding is firm. Profusely illustrated with photographs in black and white. Strand was an Early 20th Century Modernist Photographer and filmmaker who helped transform photography into an art form. The front panel of the dust jacket is all that remains and is loosely laid in. Includes a map of the "Western Islands or Hebrides.
