Tipped-on paper title label to the front cover. Just light wear to corners and edges. No marks on the covers. Very clean inside. Text in French. Endpapers are maps of Central America. One previous owner bookplate from the 1930's to the back of the endpaper. Bibliography. 190 monochrome plates, including a number in color. Errata sheet laid-in. List of plates identifies all material. Most of the work presented here is from the Musee du Trocadero in Paris, but about a third of the works drawn from other museums throughout the world, including the National Archeological Museum in Mexico City, the British Museum, the Museum of the American Indian in New York, and the Museum fur Volkerkunde in Berlin.
