An original early 19th century stitched pamphlet. 8pp. + a fold-out map. Soiled paper covers, corners creased, edges rubbed, with inked title: "Caesars Landing". Also an inked dedication: "To H. O. With the Author's best respects. Jan. 16 1845." Printed title-page. Clear English text. All pages soiled and corners creased. Fold-out map at rear: "B. Post, del." / "J. R. Jobbins, Lith.", soiled with small tear along fold. A scarce early pamphlet.

Large 8vo., bound in brown cloth with blind-stamped decoration, and gilt lettering to upper cover; 144pp, tissue-protected colour frontis plus b/w text figures and foldout map at rear. Previous owner's armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Possibly the Author's copy, with inscriptions to front pastedown, extensive pencil notes to front and rear endpapers and frontis, plus heavy annotation and underlining throughout in ink and pencil. Also includes one separate sheet of ink notes, loosely inserted, and one of pencil notes fixed to rear endpaper. Inner hinges rather weak, some light foxing, boards rather faded/dampstained, spine covering beginning to split. A Sound study copy.
