A very rare novelty record by Bebeng ("Baby") Samson, likely a pseudonym, who performs songs composed by Mar Lopez (of the Big 3 Sullivans) and others. The title track, "Manuela," is a reworked version of Fausto Pappeti's "Emmanuelle," in which the singer longs for their boyfriend Manuela, who they "can only meet at night" in a club because of his "job in an office." The club has closed, and now the singer must search for Manuela everywhere, taking a job in a cabaret in hopes that they'll meet. Though a satirical record more likely produced derisively, Bebeng Samson's songs appear to have been popular in the queer nightlife of the Philippines in the 1970s. 12-in. vinyl record in sleeve. 33 1/3 RPM. 12 x 12 in. Record and sleeve in used condition.
