(1966). First edition: Paperback Original. VSF-13; cover price, $.50. A hint of edgewear, pages age-toned, as expected, else a fine, unread copy in illustrated wraps. Crude, but effective cover art shows an enormous head floating over a forested, lake-side vista, and a streamlined spacecraft zooming through the meadows. Though this Vega sf PBO strongly resembles the format used to issue Lionel Fanthorpe's titles under a variety of pseudonyms, there is no evidence that this is a Fanthorpe penname, or that "Becher" ever wrote anything else. A ticket to nowhere, indeed.
