Reprint (this collection first published by McClure, Phillips in 1905). [8], 295, [1], [8] pages. Hardcover: H 20.25cm x L 13.75cm. Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel and spine but with top half of spine missing and those detached from rear panel; other edge-wear, soiling, and toning to panels and flaps; slender 6cm crescent-shaped loss at center of rear panel; dj now made rather presentable in mylar Brodart protector. Dark red cloth decorated with black and muted green stamping to front board and spine. Toning and foxing to edges; small dark stain at lower fore-edge fractionally affecting a few early leaves at their margins; dark blue endpapers; non-authorial three-line ink gift inscription dated for Christmas 1929 on front flyleaf; occasional light foxing to interior pages which, overall, remain clean. Some splitting to surface paper at upper rear hinge but binding remains firm. Still a very good copy in only a good dust jacket with the presence of the latter being quite unusual as the relatively thin paper generally precludes its survival. {JuvLit-Shelf#1}.
