[1] An offprint from a Journal of Chemistry (Separat-Abdruck aus dem Journal fur praktische Chemie. Neue Folge, Band 56. 1897. 5 3/4 in. x 8 3/4 in., pp. […71]-93; light gray-green, printed paper covers with publisher's ads; shows a central crease, notations in blue pencil. Loosely inserted is an Autograph Letter Signed, in German, addressed to American Scientist & Educator, Howard H. Higbee, on a folded sheet of Regina-Elfenbein watermarked paper, regarding printed & possibly hand-copied materials on organic chemistry. Dated 5 Sept. 1898 Prof. Chemistry Howard Higbee, Ph. D. Clinton, New York. The letter mentions materials by von Schonmark & Bamberger & Blaskopf (see below) and mentions the offprint. Signed: E. Beckmann Adresse: Leipzig, Bruderstrasse 34. [2] a handwritten, signed postcard to Howard Higbee, Prof. Chemistry, Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, in German, dated August 24, 1898, mentioning Beckmann & Blaskopf; Wengen, Ct. Bern, Switzerland, signed: E. Bamberger. [3] 8 folded sheets written in English (by Higbee) entitled 'Experiments on Benzoyl-phenyl-hyroxyl-amine' with a handwritten draft of a cover letter regarding the experiments, addressed to Dr. Steglitz. [4] A copy of notes in German script relating to a dissertation by Bamberger (and) Blaskopf, Basel 1896 (Phenylmonobenzhydroxamsaure), (4) pp. on a folded sheet; [5] Notes in German Beckmann (and) Schonermark Dissertation, Erlangen 1895; [6] similar notes in German: Bamberger u. Blaskopf Dissertation. Basel 1896, (4 pp.); [7] similar notes in German: Beckmann u. Schonermark Dissertation. Erlangen 1895 (4 pp. ); Items 4 through 7 are in German and regard related organic compounds or chemistry topics. And [8] a printed copy of: Zur Kenntniss des o-Chlorchinolins und seiner derivate. Inaugural-Dissertation [-] Univeritat Freiburg l. B. von Max Schoeller. Freiburg, Chr. Strocker, 1890; this shows some chipping to the paper covers. The copies/notes all show central, horizontal or vertical folds from being originally folded for mailing; some slight tanning. From the personal collections of Howard H.
