    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 8vo. 298pp. Very good plus, first edition book, no dust jacket. Many b&w photo illustrations of numerous general's portraits, modern photos of the various battlefields, and a fold-out map. Maroon clothe covered boards with gilt lettering on front panel and spine. Narrow blind-stamped border edging on front panel. Upper page edges are gilt. Side and lower edges are untrimmed, age-darkened and with some foxing. Creasing on upper and lower edges at head and tail of board spine. Text pages are also age-darkened, a few small smudges and stains but overall clean. The fold-out map is an aerial view of the battlefield; there is a 5" closed vertical tear along one of the folds.
