Bound in original green cloth gilt, with gilt block caricature on front board. Some wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine, which is sunned. Traces of foxing on the letterpress pages, but otherwise a very good copy with clean illustrations. 1913 signature on first free endpaper and 1917 letter on headed notepaper, enclosing gift copy of the book mounted on front pastedown. Illustrated by 48 mounted sketches on brown card and 2 line drawings on white paper at end. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. The fifth book of caricatures by Max Beerbohm (1872-1956) author and celebrated caricaturist. It includes his sketches of many well known figures of the day, such as Balfour, Asquith, Shaw, Masefield, Edward Grey, Thomas Hardy, Rodin, Lloyd George and Churchill.
