1910 WOMEN'S FASHION Fashion designs, drawings in black and blue ink made ca. 1908-1910 by Olga Behr and Gladys. Size: images approx. 35 x 14-16 cm, frames 54 x 34 cm. In an era where the Parisian fashion houses dictate the style, designers send their mannequins to the Longchamp Racecourse to parade in the latest creations and be spotted by the photographers. The ideal woman was tall, with a slender waist but full hips and bosom, wavy hair, and who was fashionable and confident. Dresses had flowing lines, a train and a high waist. Women wore huge hats trimmed with large beautiful feathers and wide ribbons. It won't be long before the Belle Epoque will be over. It is the time when the modern woman is 'born'. A new generation is looking for a life different from that of their mothers and grandmothers. They go to the cities in search of adventure and independence, look for work as saleswomen, business women or career women and thus received their own income. From the 1910's onwards women start to use more make-up, which is no longer associated only with theater or immoral behaviour. Price: Euro 525,- (each, incl. frame).
