Cette situation connait trois grandes variations structurelles: filiation, ecart et dissidence. Les perspectives transversales de ce livre vont des Antilles a la Belgique, du Canada a la Suisse, de l'Algerie a la Guinee, de la Cote-d'Ivoire au Congo ou a Madagascar. Elles concernent aussi bien Bauchau que Poulin ou Djebar, Metellus, Glissant ou Rabearivelo. Elles preservent les historicites propres et les imaginaires de chacun, affirment la necessite d'une Histoire substitutive dans laquelle auteur et lecteur sont condamnes a devenir des intellectuels responsables, et debouchent sur un autre rapport a la temporalite et a la langue.
