Includes the pictorial letter signed by Franklin. Yellow stitched, printed wraps. Very light wear to the covers. Interior contents clean. Limited edition of 350 copies. Transcribed letter of Franklin opposite the the picture of the actual letter announces a "Change of Ministry in the American Department" and encloses a small "Quantity of Upland Rice from Cochin China" and "also a few seeds of the Chinese Tallow Tree." The letter is significant due to the loss of much correspondence was lost during the Revolution and a fire in Savannah. However, a package of papers survived and were given to Capt. Hugh McCall for use in publication of the "History of Georgia." This is one of those letters that survived and later returned to Wormsloe Plantation where Noble Wimberly Jones resided.
