Bem war Hauptmann in der Kgl. Polnischen reitenden Artillerie. - Die Anmerkungen und Ergänzungen von Schuh umfassen 36 Seiten und stammen teils aus den Werken von Ch. Dupin und dem "Aid - memoire à l'usage des officiers d'artillerie de France". Sie behandeln u.a. die Kosten, die Anwendung, die verschiedenen Abschussgestelle, die Raketen im Felde, Leuchtraketen sowie die Wirkung der Raketen bei der Belagerung von Danzig 1813.
