Softcover. Condition: As New. Strassenbenennungen sind - und waren - Spiegel der jeweiligen gesellschaftlichen Verhaltnisse. So wurden viele Strassen in den 70er-Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts nach Autoren benannt, die damals en vogue, also Erfolgsschriftsteller waren, die aber heute - ob zu Unrecht oder nicht - in manchen Fallen v…ollig vergessen sind. Die Strasse ist zwar im Deutschen weiblich, aber bis etwa 1970 wurden Verkehrsflachen beinahe ausschliesslich nach Mannern benannt. Erst dann konnte man Namen wie Ada Christen oder Selma Lagerlof auf den Strassenschildern lesen. Beppo Beyerl und Manfred Chobot wollen jene Autoren untersuchen, die den Bewohnern zwar durch ihre Strassen im Stadtbild vertraut sind, von deren Wirken und Leben sie jedoch kaum eine Ahnung haben. Dabei geht es ihnen nicht um eine postmortale Ehrenrettung diverser Autoren, so manche von ihnen waren reaktionar oder antisemitisch. Nein, vielmehr sollte man wissen, warum man ausgerechnet in eine Zedlitzgasse, in eine Bauernfeldgasse oder in eine Hamerlinggasse geht, und warum die Namensschopfer anno dazumal ihre bis heute verwendeten Strassennamen erhielten.
