The reverse of the title page has a private library stamp of 'B' with a crown and an inscription in ink beneath it "To my dear nephew Douglas Wickham, Ash Wednesday 1882". From a slip to the front of the volume "This book of meditations contains what appears to be a form of spiritual diary, with dates and places of entries and readings ( e.g. 'Leamington June 8/43 6am'; 'Holybourne March 1 1858'; 'Admouth June 24 1870'; Fonthill May 22 1839') and a considerable number of page references in the back". Provenance: dedicated to Douglas Wickham, stamped 'B' with a crown. Approximately 4 ¾ inches tall.
