La presente edizione, dedicata alla Madama Eleonora contessa di Collalto Cavaliera di Cappello da Pierantonio Serassi che cura anche una vita dell'autore, ripropone nel primo volume i 318 sonetti e le 36 canzoni dellla prima ed unica precedente edizione del 1560, nel secondo volume rime inedite seguite dalle annotazioni di Ludovico Flangini. La sua opera poetica, già apprezzata nel Cinquecento, ricevette definitivo riconoscimento due secoli dopo, quando Pier Ant.
