He transferred his library to his niece, Eleanor Sherman Fitch, the granddaughter of General Sherman through his eldest daughter, Maria âMinnieâ Ewing Sherman Fitch, before he died. Until now, this book was held at the family estate in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
