Album de photographies. [7509].
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Beautiful, limited first edition, one of only 500 copies for regular sale (out of a total edition of 2000 copies) of this commemorative album celebrating the liberation of Paris during World War II, with dozens of photographic images. With contemporary owner inscriptions. This striking photographic album shares the experiences of the French in Paris when they were liberated during the Second World War. From French fighters at the barricades to celebrations in the streets, this book captures the unique conditions of wartime and post-war Paris. Text in both English and French. Contemporary inscription, likely from someone involved in the war effort, reading "Please hang onto this until I get home soon as I haven't had a good look at it myself." Neat ink inscription on front wrapper dated 1945. Usual mild toning to interior and wrappers, only light wear to extremities, less than often found. A near-fine copy.
