Dust jacket has… heavy wear across it with a couple medium tears on the front and top of spine. Interior and text block is very clean and the binding is still tight. This book covers several tribes across Arizona that still practice basket weaving. That, at the time, revolutionary way to replace pottery across much of the southwest US. Baskets are of immense value to those who make them and often represent property, religion, and of course are vital to every day living. The book includes maps and pictures to give context and visuals to the art of basket weaving and the tribes' locations in Arizona. This is a very well done and researched book on the history, purpose, and importance of basket weaving to those people who have mastered it so much that many describe them simply as the Basket Weavers.
