First edition, first printing. 1929 on copyright page and title page. Rare original DJ. $1.00 price intact on flap. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are clean with a gift inscription dated 1931; with a child writing their own name incorporated into inscription. Top edge of rear panel has a small dent. Rare DJ shows light soiling, closed tear, and an open chip on upper front edge. A collection of old folktales told in Hawaii, each with the folk tale's local origin. A nice, tight copy with flaws noted. VG+.
