Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents an in-depth analysis of the historical and legal framework surrounding the significant redistribution of ecclesiastical properties in Italy following the country's 1861 unification. It begins by examining the state of ecclesiastical wealth in pre-unification Italy and the legal frameworks that governed it. The author then chronicles the various laws enacted between 1855 and 1873, analyzing their impact on the disestablishment of religious institutions and the confiscation of Church assets. The book also sheds light on the underlying political, economic, and social factors that drove these changes, and explores their far-reaching consequences for both the Church and Italian society as a whole. Through a wealth of primary sources and detailed research, this book offers a comprehensive and nuanced account of an important chapter in Italian history, providing valuable insights into the complex relationship between religion, politics, and property rights. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
