An interesting and very scarce work from Bevan, who was the inventor of the "Oesophagoscope," an optical instrument for examining the inside of the (o)esophagus. The book is the "result of clinical & pathological researches at Guy's Hospital, London, and at the Bellevue Hospital, New… York"--title page. Beveled and scored red leather with blind stamped gilt titling on front and spine. Covers show very mild general wear, with light wear at top & tail of spine and very modest bumps to corners. Darkening/mild foxing at ends; mild damp staining to outside corners of free endpapers; otherwise interior is clean, crisp, & bright, unmarked. Binding is tight & strong. 68 pp. Approx. 5" x 7.5". An extremely well preserved copy in a very attractive binding. Carefully shipped in secure parcel. Ask all questions; glad to respond.
