Hard Cover in Dust Jacket. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. R. M. Gompertz (illustrator). First Edition. Large format, 9 1/2" x 12 1/2", bound in black cloth with gilt stamping on upper board (dulled) and on spine. Moisture adherence has occured along the front flap of the dust jacket and adjoining fore edge of the upper board resulting in minor transfer of paper to the boards and black colour to the blind side of the dust jacket; the cloth is rubbed at the bottom of the spine; otherwise, save for a few very faint and small spots of foxing, internally the book is clean, unmarked and tightly bound. The dust jacket has a couple of faint spatters on the front panel, a 4" tear extending from the top of the spine panel onto the front panel, and a couple of other short tears. p[] In Dutch, the poems are by various poets old and current (e.g. Joost Van den Vondel (1587-1679) and Bert Voeten (1918)) extolling the virtues of Amsterdam. The dust jacket is a wrap-around lithographic print.
