First Edition
Newspaper. Condition: Very good. The format is 11.5 inches by 14 inches. This has been folded in half and half again. 8 pages. Illustrations (color). Front page story is about Sonic The Hedgehog - Mega Man Worlds Collide. Cliff Biggers is an American comic book writer and journalist. His first published writing appeared in fanzines in the mid-1960s. He was a founding member of the amateur press alliance (APA) Myriad and was active in the Southern Fandom Press Alliance, a southeastern-based science fiction amateur press association. He was also involved in Galaxy, CAPA-Alpha, Apa-5, and other amateur press alliances. Biggers' first professional writing was done for Jim Steranko's Mediascene magazine in 1972; he worked intermittently for Steranko for two years. At the same time, he and his wife Susan H. Biggers co-edited and published the science fiction review magazine Future Retrospective. Way back in 1987, Cliff Biggers and Ward Batty started Comic Shop News® as a weekly, print fanzine for stores, with a focus on the best new comics available for pre-order. Almost 40 years later, we're the last of the print fanzines standing. Since the beginning, CSN has been at the heart of the comics industry. CSN was the first print appearance of Deadpool and Spawn. CSN was Geoff John's first writing gig. CSN is where Brian Michael Bendis launched 'Powers' and was featured in the opening credits of Kevin Smith's film, 'Chasing Amy'. Reading old issues of CSN is like stepping back in time machine to experience comics history, week by week. In a world of disposable, digital first culture, it's simply remarkable that this little print newspaper hasn't missed a week for almost 40 years. Today, Comic Shop News® is still covering all the great comics, toys, books and games available for purchase at your local comic shop. Read by more than 40,000 people each week, available every Wednesday at your local comic shop. Presumed First Edition, First printing this issue.

Newsletter. [4] pages. Evenly age toned, Very Good. Biggers was a comics author, journalist, and zine editor in Georgia who published reviews of science fiction works with his wife. This issue, an "introzine," describes attempts to get a science fiction convention, WorldCon, in Atlanta (this would not happen for another 9 years), Biggers's thoughts on recent SF recommendations, and complaints of problems with his Gestetner and distance from a Gestetner shop (the zine is printed in green ink, which means "the pseudo-Gestetner ink came through").
