HARDCOVER, bound in somewhat later marbled boards, plain spine bit rubbed at end, manuscript lettering-piece in early hand, gutter margin of last leaf cracked; few small brown spots, one bit more evident. A lovely copy in a very good condition, ample-margined, preserved in the original state. ~ FIRST EDITION thus. First published in Delft, 1696, under the title "Traité historique des dieux et des demons du paganisme". It was aimed against Balthasar Bekker's "Betooverde Weereld". H-2 OUT.
