Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed by both the author and the illustrator on the half-title page. Fortunately, the white and light blue covers of the book itself are perfectly clean (that's also the case for the three page edges). The covers…show only minimal wear, a small crease at the top right-hand corner of the front and a little crinkling at the bottom edge of the spine. The book is square, not slanted, and very solidly bound from cover to cover, with very nicely tight pages. The pages are exceptionally clean. I didn't see any soiling at all. That's also the case for the inside covers and end papers. And there's no creasing or dogeared corners on any of the pages. No markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the aforementioned signatures and inscriptions, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The dust jacket looks pretty much new. You can see it in the first few photographs. It is perfectly clean. There are no tears. It is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. There's a light crease at the bottom edge of the front flap. The jacket will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. 'One year after their wedding, Ken and Bing finishes strenuous home-renovation project that puts their new marriage to the test. After the dumpster is gone and the last shingle is in place, they had to the French countryside to celebrate their long-delayed honeymoon, swearing that they are out of the home renovation game for good. With joy and humor, Ken recounts the couple's mishaps and misadventures, capturing the essence of French village life and the unique characters they meet. He shares the couple's hilarious linguistic blunders and the awkwardness of being tourists in a close-knit town.' 'Ken McAdams is a graduate of Yale University and a former Marine Corps Naval Aviator and has broken four world records and received the decoration as a first civilian volunteer to fly Marines into Iraq. Marian " Bing" Bingham did her graduate work at Wesleyan University with a Concentration in Art.'. Marian " Bing" Bingham (illustrator). Inscribed by Author(s).

Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - As a longtime leader and innovator in the risk management industry, Ken Bingham holds nothing back, keeping it honest and practical for the reader as he lends his decades of wisdom in support of risk and safety companies, startups, and anyone considering a career in risk management. In his view, t…he industry has spent more than fifty years of lagging when it comes to leveraging the available data, and with his insights and the insights of his company, Risk Alive, he intends to deliver the industry's understanding not just into the present, but into an exciting future.Guided by evidential truths presented in a warm, honest storytelling style, The Soul of Risk will positively transform the way you think about a potential career in risk and safety. As Bingham explores and presents the enormously valuable (and currently untapped) data, he presents hidden learnings, renews the call for young people to join this incredibly exciting career path, and turns everything you think you know about risk upside down. The world has changed. Most businesses and industries are open to sharing data to make themselves better, quicker, and more cost-efficient at what they do. As someone working in (or considering working in) a career in risk management, there has never been a better opportunity to change your perspective on how to use this new horizon of data to make the world a safer and better place. A career in risk and safety is so much more than just a career; with the right tools and the right knowhow, you can, as the subtitle suggests, transform yourself into a modern-day superhero.
