This set of 51 cliches is probably dated 1896-1898, as some pictures were reproduced in his travel account: Au Pays des Pagodes et des Monastères: en Birmanie (Paris, Delagrave, 1899). A very rare collection of original pictures kept in a box. Each photograph measures around 28*20 cm and is fixed on hard board (45*35 cm). Eugène Gallois is a famous globe-trotter and reporter who travelled all around the world. He published many articles and travel accounts in different publications (Bulletin de la Société de Géographie de Lille, Bulletin de la Société de Géographie de Marseille. Bulletin de la Société de Géographie de Paris, Journal des Voyages, le Tour du Monde, La Dépêche coloniale illustrée, Autour du Monde).
