Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Millar, H.R. (illustrator). First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Black cloth with titling and decoration in gilt to spine and yellow to upper board. Top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Some marking to boards, rubbing to corners and spine tips, and a small bump and tear to top edge of upper. Spine gilt bright, page edge gilt dulled. Age-toning to paper but contents clean without bookplates or inscriptions and with only occasional light spotting to margins. 92 pp; frontispiece and 7 b/w plates by H. R. Millar. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Acquired from the estate of film producer, Simon Relph. The original of this story is to be found in Victor Hugo's 'Le Rhin' (1842). Orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured.
