This paperback is "The Story of a Life : St. Thérèse of Lisieux" by Bishop Guy Gaucher, OCD. The book was published in paperback format in 1993. St. Thérèse of Lisieux is one of the most popular catholic saints, and millions of people visit the Basilica of St. Thérèse, Lisieux, which is the second-largest pilgrimage site in France, after Lourdes. Of special interest for this book is the somewhat lengthy inscription on the first page of the book by a personal friend of the author, Bishop Gaucher. In the inscription she recounts some of Bishop Gucher's life, calling him a "first-class priest" and , finally, calling the book "a good biography of Thérése". Guy Étienne Germain Gaucher, OCD (1930 - 2014) is the author of this book. As was St Thérèse (of The Little Flower) Gaucher was French Catholic Discalced Carmelite. He had been Bishop of Meaux, and then was named auxiliary bishop of Bayeux-Lisieux in residence at Lisieux, where he remained until his retirement. He is considered to be one of the leading experts on the life of St. Thérèse, and this book is one of the most complete biographies of her. Having devoted his years to St. Thérèse, he had a large part in the compilation of the Centenary Edition of the Works of Thérèse.
