Robert Black (1925-2017) dedicated his adult life to the study of chemistry, specialising in radiation chemistry and dielectric phenomena. He wrote scientific works and collected esoteric books and was particularly interested in alchemy. Very good + copy. Heavy, and delivery costs may be a consideration especially outside Britain. Original pale blue cloth lettered black on spine and upper cover. Signed by Robert Black on front free endpaper and with a list in his hand stating that six copies of this dissertation exist, three at the University of London, one with A. J. Lindsay, one with M. D. Burns and his own copy (i.e. this copy). Robert Black (born 1925) dedicated his adult life to the study of chemistry, specialising in radiation chemistry and dielectric phenomena. This dissertation evolved when, under A. J. Lindsay, he took on part-time research on chemiluminescence at the Sir John Cass College. He has written many scientific papers and has published works about alchemy and alchemists. He was a member of the Society for Psychical Research and of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia. Rubbed at edges, otherwise very good. Signedes.
