Bentley in BLAKE BOOKS, there are discussions of William Blake (e.g. "an eccentric and very ingenious artist") under William Hayley, W. Blake, and William Blake, the bibliography from the last of which is reprinted in Watt (no. 533). Although the BIOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY was published anonymously, Bentley reports that Watkins compiled A-K and from there on by Shoberl [citing B. Corney "a persuasive witness" in NOTES & QUERIES XI (1855), 34].
