Bound in tan illustrated cloth covers, with titles in red on front cover, black on spine. Fair condition only - both hinges broken, the frontispiece and one internal plate are detached, but still present, toning to the covers - but still appealing despite the flaws.

Separate pictorial design to spine. Solid clean copy; arrestingly illustrated with color and b&w tissue guarded plates from paintings by Blanche McManus. Approximately 75 illustrations, perhaps half this number are full page plates. Includes several maps, one folding. Just minimal shelf rub at tips and spine ends. Handsome and neat. VG+.

Tan cloth boards scuffed at edges and worn/bumped at corners. Front board soiled/discolored at fore-edge. Pictorial illustration on front board rubbed with a few chips, but overall attractive. Gilt lettering normally dulled, but legible. White manuscript lettering (Date) on tail of spine. Top edge gilt; fore-edge deckled. Front and rear gutters split with exposed binding mesh. Previous ownership signature, in blue ink, found on top edge of front end-page. Previous ownership blind stamps found sporadically throughout text-block on bottom corners: "Library of William S. Jackson." Normal toning throughout text-block; some off-setting around plates & illustrations. Binding intact. Please see photos. Blanche McManus (1869 1935) was an American writer and artist. She and her husband, Milburg Francisco Mansfield wrote a series of illustrated travel books, many of which included information about automobiles which were new at the time.
