Paper Cover. Condition: Very Good. 137pp. with 3 pages of Verlag Gulbis advertisements. A very good, clean unmarked copy with pages uniformly aged with some light discolouration to top of front cover. Trans by author. Does not appear to be Harro v. Hirschheydt's 1972 Hanover reprint but just might be as otherwise the book is in remarkably good condition. Lettische Literatur Band III "Blaumanis übersetzte viele lettisch verfasste Werke, wie sein naturalistisches Drama Die Indrans (1904), ins Deutsche.Er verfasste Prosawerke wie die heute in Lettland noch sehr bekannten Novellen Die Raudup-Wirtin (1889) oder Im Schatten des Todes (1899) und gilt als Begründer der psychologischen Kurzgeschichte in Lettisch. Ab 1890 wurden auch erste Theaterstücke von ihm aufgeführt, die Probleme des bäuerlichen Lebens in Lettland behandelten. --- Blaumanis übersetzte viele lettisch verfasste Werke, wie sein naturalistisches Drama Die Indrans (1904), ins Deutsche.".
