Because of the tipped-in plates, the heavy stock untrimmed -edge pages are slightly rippled. Front hinge partially cracked but holding. Blue cloth boards with gold-stamped titles along spine are sunned and rubbed at extremities with loss of material to lower corners and head of spine. Grey paper wrapper with price of L5,5s is heavily chipped along edges, now in protective mylar. The Bles Collection of English and Irish Glass had been lent to the Victoria and Albert Museum in the year preceding this book's publication. A review of the show describes the collection as "particularly rich in glasses of individual interest, and every piece included may be said to illustrate a different aspect of the development of the craft.".
