Blome is a Christian Scientist, a follower of its founder Mary Baker Eddy, and a student of Augusta E. Stetson. In this volume, Blome tries to explain to the public the principles of Christian Science metaphysics and doctrine. Signed presentation from Blome on the front endpaper: "To Col. and Mrs. James H.
