The first book describes the history of the city from its founding to statehood including nine colored maps, the second its population and societies including 4 colophons, the third the chronicles and historians, the fourth its constitution with two colophons depicting the seals of the city, the fifth the document granting the rights (die Handfeste) and a colophon of the original document, the sixth a critical inquiry of this document, and finally a city map with an overlay, a plan of the fortifications of the city.
