Hardcover. Condition: As New. 1st Edition. Finnish artist Bo Haglund (b. 1963) combines comic art, graphic design, and stagecraft with visual art. He began his career in the 1980s as a set designer for theater and film productions, and later worked on textile designs for Marimekko and cartoons for Ny Tid magazine. Eventually, he… transitioned from stage design and graphic work into visual art through comics. Haglund's diverse background is reflected in his work, which blends multidimensional emotional landscapes, narrative storytelling, observations of contemporary life, and richly detailed expression. His visually inviting and approachable pieces draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including the performative nature of social media, comics that comment on art history, and Nordic melancholy. In his most recent works, human figures appear hidden within theatrical settings or among vegetation, sometimes fleeing, in transitional spaces, observing, or simply bewildered. The book engages in a dialogue with Haglund's recent work and his multifaceted artistic career. Text in Finnish, Swedish and English. 167 pp.
