Photograph. PHOTOGRAPH of silent film star, and wife of film director King Vidor, Eleanor Boardman. (11" X 14") Though the image of the actress, here pictured in profile is lovely, it is unfortunately marred by chipping to edges of the white margin, including glue stains which have bled through at the upper lefthand corner. The blank reverse shows remnants of glue, having been removed from the photo album of fellow silent film star Carmel Myers' scrapbook. Likely the work of Ms. Myers' cousin, the M.G.M. studio photographer Ruth Harriet Louise.

A bleak, populist film, heavily influenced by German cinema, and nominated for several awards at the very first Academy Awards ceremony, including Best Director for King Vidor. Shot on location throughout New York and in Los Angeles. 10 x 7.25 inches. Very Good, moderately edgeworn, with old cello tape at the corners and center bottom edge. National Film Registry.
