A comprehensive history of the Pacific Tannery, a prominent tanning business that once graced the streets of Stockton, California. The Pacific Tannery was founded in 1853 by a German immigrant named Jacob C. Wagner. Jacob's brother, Charles Wagner, later joined the business in 1865. Excerpt from Chapter 1: "This historical work is presented with the aim of giving the reader a view of the tanning operations of the Pacific Tannery from 1853 to 1928; from the tannery's inception with primitive equipment to a highly modern plant the enterprise and the Wagner Family has played a vital role in Stockton's history.".
